Supermarkets, superstars and support - how the Man City new boys have been welcomed
Manchester City attract players for all manner of reasons.
There's the chance to play in the Premier League, to learn from Pep Guardiola, to win trophies, and to earn a substantial amount of money. And, if you're Omar Marmoush, to discover where you want to get your groceries from.
As small talk goes, a £59m signing asking "So what are the names of the supermarkets? Like, the famous supermarkets?" on his way from the airport is right up there. But, given City leave no stone unturned in helping their new signings to settle, he will soon know the best Tesco and Lidl in town.

All three of the new boys this month have already had a helping hand to get them started at their new club, with the thinking being that as much that can be taken care of them off the pitch the better position they will be in to start performing instantly on it. Whether it brings instant rewards remains to be seen, but it has worked many time before.
Abdukodir Khusanov got the full support of his teammates after his early errors against Chelsea, but had already been made to feel at home. The defender had a translator with him for his first few days at the club, and players including Bernardo Silva who speak French were ready in training to translate any commands from Guardiola that weren't fully understood.
Vitor Reis had the help of a club legend in Fernandinho being on hand. The Brazilian always showed care for the younger players when he was at the club, and his presence in Manchester has been welcomed as Reis adapts to a new environment.
Marmoush is older and more experienced, but Rodri was still waiting for the 25-year-old as he came off the pitch against Chelsea to walk off down the tunnel with him. They might not all be big gestures, but they have helped the new players in their first week at the club.
"My teammates have taken me inside the dressing room and have made me feel part of the family since the first day so from that aspect it’s been easy to come into the team and I feel comfortable," said Marmoush. "This club is one of the best in the world and the quality of the players is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing and I’m really happy to be here.”
