Swansea City deadline day bulletin as Swans see off Euro clubs for star and hope remains for more deals
Swansea City are closing in on a loan move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien.
The 26-year-old, who enjoyed a brief loan spell at Los Angeles FC in MLS earlier in the season, has undergone a medical at Fairwood having already agreed terms with the Swans, who are understood to have beaten a number of clubs in securing his signature.
It's understood a number of sides in the Championship, as well as in MLS, had taken an interest, while Valencia and Besiktas were among the European sides to have also been keeping tabs. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

Barring any last-minute hitches, however, O'Brien is set to become Swansea's second signing of the January window, with the club having already secured a loan move for Burnley's Hannes Delcroix.
The Swans are still hopeful of completing a couple more before the close of play, and are pushing to complete a loan move for Red Bull Salzburg's Bobby Clark.
An attacking midfielder was one of the key areas identified for strengthening in this window, and 19-year-old Clark, who's the son of Newcastle United legend Lee, has seemingly emerged as a key target on the final day.
The club remain hopeful of completing a loan deal for Manchester City youngster Jacob Wright, having agreed a deal to take him on loan for the rest of the season with an obligation to buy in the summer.
However, they are yet to receive the green light from the player's representatives and, at the time of writing, it appears terms are yet to be agreed.
There has been one departure on deadline day, with youngster Harry Jones leaving by mutual consent, but the club are otherwise not expecting any further exits at this stage.
