Thomas Frank reacts to fresh links with Manchester United job as Brentford manager speaks out
Thomas Frank admits he is “flattered” by the reports linking him Manchester United but insisted he is happy at Brentford.
The Telegraph reported on Tuesday morning that senior officials at Old Trafford had been impressed with the work the Dane has done since moving into the managerial role in west London back in 2018.
Frank is thought to have an existing relationship with United’s new minority owners in the INEOS group and is said to have previously linked up with Sir Dave Brailsford.
While Erik ten Hag remains in the United dugout for now, there has been a huge amount of speculation in regards to his future following a turbulent second season in charge.
The Red Devils are at risk of their lowest ever finish in the Premier League era should they stay eighth after the final two games of the season.
Still, Frank, who last week opened up on this being his most challenging season at Brentford, believes he is currently at the “perfect” club.
“I am really happy where I am,” he told Danish publication Bold.
“It is close to being the perfect club to be at. I can see myself being here for many more years.”
“I am close to the owner, to the sports director, everyone around the club. Brentford is a club where I really feel at home.”
When asked specifically about the United job, the Bees boss added: “First of all I think it is flattering and a recognition of the work I’ve done.
“And I’m glad that others are noticing the work we are doing at Brentford. But, having said that, what goes on at Brentford is not a one-man show.”
