Ajax will face either Manchester City or Tottenham, with Spurs going into the second leg of their quarter-final with a one-goal advantage.

Sergio Aguero saw his penalty saved by Hugo Lloris in the first leg, before Son Heung-min’s 78th-minute winner.

City would surely be favourites to advance, but a goal for the away side could really cause an upset. Pep Guardiola’s men would then need to score three if Spurs got themselves on the scoresheet.

Both English sides would surely fancy themselves against the ‘underdogs’, but as we have seen already, the Dutch side won’t roll over easily.

Having already knocked out defending champions Real Madrid - and ended their era of dominance - Ajax came from behind to stun Juventus last night. The former powerhouses, led by Erik Ten Hag, have proven they are not to be underestimated.

Heading into their first semi-final in the Champions League for 22 years, they will want to keep their impressive run in Europe going.

Barcelona comfortably saw off Manchester United to book their place in the final four.

With Messi at the wheel, Barcelona look real contenders to clinch their sixth Champions League title.

The 31-year-old has never had to wait for more than four years between European titles and he won’t want that changing this season.

Liverpool, with a two goal advantage travelling to Porto, have themselves one foot in the semi-finals already and look set to take on Barca.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have never lost a European match against FC Porto in seven previous matches.

They also inflicted Sergio Conceicao’s side their heaviest ever home defeat in the competition in last season’s Champions League last 16 tie, the Reds winning 5-0.

The 1st leg of the semi-finals will be held on Tuesday 30th April and Wednesday 1st May.
