'Why not?' - Antony next transfer tipped as Manchester United phone call made
Real Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon has hinted that Antony could remain at Manchester United beyond this season. The Brazilian joined Betis on loan in January after struggling for form and game time under Reds boss Ruben Amorim.
Antony opened his account for the La Liga side on Saturday, scoring in Betis' 3-2 defeat at Celta Vigo. It marked just a second goal of the season for United's 24-year-old winger, who also found the back of the net during September's 7-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.
In total, Antony has scored just 12 goals for the Reds since completing a €100million (£85.5m move from Ajax in August 2022. And Betis' Alarcon has now had his say on what the future could hold for Antony in Spain, revealing conversations have taken place over the phone with United on Antony's progress.

“I think so," he said via ABC Sevilla when asked if Antony could stay next season. "The other day, the CEO of United called me.
"We sent them all the moves and details of the player throughout the week so that they can see that we are looking after their asset. There is very good chemistry with Manchester [United] and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?”
Spanish sources have indicated to The Manchester Evening News that Betis are shouldering a minimum of 84 per cent of Antony's wages during his loan spell in Spain. It is also believed that the deal between United and Betis does not include an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
