The gesture will cost the player over £8,000 but he wanted to do something to thank the fans for the near 500-mile round trip.

Jorgensen, 27, posted of twitter:”I hope you like the gift. Zanka Claus is coming to Town!”

More than 2,500 fans will travel to the south coast – and with Premier League club charging £3.20 for a pint of beer the Denmark international will have to dig deep.

“Your support this year has been truly amazing, so I thought I would think up something special for those of you travelling to Southampton this weekend,” he said in a video message.

Fans had a few at Watford last weekend as they toasted the end of a drought by taking on some fluids.

Their 4-1 victory at Vicarage Road was the club’s first away win since the opening day at Crystal Palace – and their first goals since that sunny day at Selhurst Park.

In fact the club scored more time in Hertfordshire than they have in every top flight away game so far put together.

The Terriers at last found their bite of their travels and after ended their 648-minute wait for an away goal, two-goal midfielder Aaron Mooy said: “Football is very funny sometimes, we scored more times here than in the rest of the games combined but we can really use this confidence now.

“The manager has been very good with separating the away form and not letting it concern the players and that has helped us.

“We put it all together and it’s great for the players’ confidence. We’ve always felt like we deserved to be in the Premier League from the start but this was a really special game for the club.”
