Antony moves one step closer to Manchester United exit as fresh footage emerges from Spain
Manchester United star Antony has arrived in Spain ahead of completing his loan move to Real Betis.
The 24-year-old who joined United for £82million from Ajax in August 2022 is closing in on a move to the La Liga side after struggling for game time this season. In fact, Antony has not started a single Premier League match in 2024/25, playing just 135 first-team minutes in the top flight.
Despite rumours circulating around his future, Antony was named in the United squad to face Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday but didn't feature. He remained as an unused substitute.

However, on Friday evening, the Brazilian boarded a flight from Manchester Airport to Malaga, where he landed before travelling to Seville via car. Footage captured by Spanish outlet Relevo showed Antony walking through the terminal with three suitcases and a bag pack as he prepares to leave United.
Antony is expected to undergo his medical on Saturday and sign his contract with Betis. He is set to join Manuel Pellegrini's side until the end of the season with NO option or obligation to buy inserted in the deal, meaning he will return to Old Trafford in the summer.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday that Betis are set to pay 84 per cent of Antony's £200,000 per-week wages. That would mean Betis are set to pay £168,000 per-week for Antony's services, with United chipping in with the rest. Regardless, it's a significant boost to United's Profit and Sustainability worries.
Earlier this week, United boss Ruben Amorim admitted he can help Antony turn around his fortunes. He said: "He needs more confidence. If you remember the Antony at Ajax, he lacks the confidence to go 1 vs 1. He’s working really hard and I will help him to be a better player."
