Everton will be missing seven players for the final visit of Liverpool to Goodison Park. As the Premier League title race continues, the Blue side of the city will be eyeing the chance to throw a spanner in the works.

Full-backs Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson are both set to miss out with calf and thigh injuries respectively. Left-back Vitalii Mykolenko, though, will return after a muscle issue of his own.

Midfielders Orel Mangala and Dwight McNeill have both had surgery on injuries and are set to be out for a while. Forwards Dominic Calvert-Lewin (thigh), Armando Broja (ankle) and Youssef Chermiti (thigh) are also missing, leaving David Moyes with a dilemma over how to set up his attack.

Liverpool could be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, though he faces a late fitness test. He has trained a little bit already and might do so again today with Conor Bradley standing by to deputize.

Joe Gomez could be set for another period on the sidelines having damaged the same leg that he limped off having been injured at West Ham United a few weeks ago. But other than that, Liverpool should have a clean bill of health with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk well rested having not even traveled to Plymouth in the FA Cup over the weekend.

Liverpool.com says: On paper, Liverpool should win the derby comfortably, but it will be anything but. The crowd will be up for the occasion but the Reds have to make sure that it is irrelevant by overcoming the first few minutes.

Moyes has generally struggled against the better teams during his career and his record against Liverpool since leaving Everton has been dismal. Arne Slot's task is to make sure that continues.
