Gossip: Chelsea 'propose Bale/Hazard swap', Man City 'confident' of luring £75m Isco', Juventus 'target Martial'
Wouldn’t it be great to go out for a beer one night with the lads from Don Balon? They’d be full of tall tales, sensational stories and amusing anecdotes about their crazy lives at the website’s HQ in Barcelona. Like the time they went to a party at Ronaldinho’s house, or stole one of Lionel Messi’s trainers, or slept with Carlos Puyol’s wife.
Sure, almost everything they told you would probably be made up, but everyone would be drunk so who cares? The Don Balon boys might not be the most reliable, but they sure know how to enjoy life. And today they are enjoying an Eden Hazard/Gareth Bale swap deal.
Sounds like a dodgy move for Chelsea? Well get this – it’s the Blues who have proposed it.
Our mates Don Balon say the Premier League champions (might as well call them that for a few more days while we still can) believe it will be “impossible” to keep Hazard at Stamford Bridge because he has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

Ergo, they have decided to try to get one of Real player’s into the bargain – and Bale is probably the only one who would agree to join them.
The Welshman is apparently “desperate” to return to the Premier League, although his stock has fallen considerably in recent times and he is now worth a lot less than Hazard – meaning a “player-plus-cash swap” is on the cards.
Premier League trio chase Isco
Another proposed La Liga/Premier League transfer transaction hitting the headlines is Manchester City’s alleged move for Real Madrid playmaker Isco.
According to the Mirror, Pep Guardiola’s side are “growing confident” of landing the 25-year-old in a deal worth “up to £75m”.
However, the Sun has a very different valuation of the player, saying Chelsea and Tottenham will try to sign him for £40m, “even though he is rated at £88m”. This is getting confusing now.
Manchester United’s Anthony Martial could be on his way to Juventus, says the Mirror – via Italian website Tuttosport. The Italian champions believe they are in “pole position” to sign the Frenchman, who is “frustrated” with his bit-part role at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have made signing a central midfielder a priority this summer due to “uncertainty” over the futures of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey, says the Telegraph. Among the players being considered by Sven Mislinat’s scouting department are Schalke’s Max Meyer, although Tottenham want him too.

Spurs may be more concerned about keeping star midfield man Mousa Dembele, who the Telegraph adds has “cast doubt over his future” by putting contract talks on hold until after the World Cup.
Elsewhere, West Ham are “confident” of sealing a £15m move for FC Krasnodar’s 28-year-old Russia striker Fyodor Smolov (Mirror), Watford manager Javi Gracia has “challenged” Abdoulaye Doucoure to resist a summer move to one the Premier League’s top six (Mail) and Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is attempting to prolong his career by taking up yoga (Sun). They wouldn’t have stood for that kind of thing in Tony Adams’ day.
