Liverpool shared footage from inside Jürgen Klopp's last ever dressing room speech as he addressed his players after the win over Wolves. Klopp bid farewell to Anfield after the 2-0 victory on the final day of the Premier League season.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Jarell Quansah secured the win for Liverpool as it ended the campaign in third spot. The Reds had been in the title picture for much of the season but fell away in the final weeks.

It was instead Manchester City who finished up as champions once again. Pep Guardiola's men claimed a fourth successive title, edging out Arsenal by two points at the top.

Klopp referenced Liverpool's rivals as he spoke to his players inside the dressing room. His 2019/20 team is the only side to stop City winning the title in the last seven seasons.

"I love you, that’s what I can say. The football you are able to play is absolutely ridiculous. I can’t wait to be watching you, developing, making next steps," he said, in footage shared by Liverpool on social media.

Klopp was then told City had won the title after beating West Ham on the final day, adding: "The only ones who stopped them was us, and you can do that again. There might be some people who say [third place] is not enough – I tell you, they don’t have a clue about football.

“Could we have had better moments? Yes, of course, that’s always possible. But did we do better than you can usually expect? Oh yes, because it takes longer to become a top team again. And you did that [clicks] like this and that’s why expectations go up like this and then we couldn’t keep the pace. That’s the problem a little bit.”

The German had earlier delivered a powerful and emotional speech to his adoring supporters after the match, following a presentation from FSG chiefs John Henry and Tom Werner, and even led a new chant for incoming replacement Arne Slot.

Liverpool.com says: It is rare for Klopp to let cameras into his dressing room but Liverpool fans got a glimpse on his final day in charge. He is right to give his players belief that they can challenge for the title again next season under Arne Slot. The future is very bright at Anfield.
