Jamie Carragher has heaped praise on Arsenal duo William Saliba and Gabriel.

Both central defenders have played a key role in the Gunners' impressive defensive performances as they look to win their first Premier League title since 2004. Mikel Arteta's side have conceded a league-best 28 goals in the top flight this season.

And former Liverpool defender Carragher has acknowledged the role of Gabriel and Saliba in Arsenal's title charge, The Sky Sports pundit has picked both players in his team of the season whilst sharing his belief that they could become a legendary centre-back partnership.

"As a partnership, they have been together for two years but when you think of them this season, I think if this partnership stays together for the next three to four years, we are talking about this alongside Ferdinand and Vidic, Carvalho and John Terry," he said on Sky Sports.

"They are the two who really standout, and I think those two will certainly go alongside one of the best centre-back partnerships we have seen in the Premier League."

Similar sentiments have been shared by Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian claimed that Salbia will be one the best players in the world one day.

“Everyone knows how good he [Saliba] is, but not only him – he and Gabriel match up perfectly, and I think Gabi has helped him a lot," Jesus told Arsenal.com.

“Off the pitch, he [Saliba] is one of the funniest guys here, but not because he’s joking all the time. It’s just the way he is. He’s very special.”
