Liverpool confirms 21-man squad for PSV game as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk decisions made
Liverpool has confirmed its traveling squad for tomorrow’s final league phase game in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven, with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk not included.
The Reds have made their way over to the Netherlands after conducting their final training session at the AXA Training Centre ahead of the game on Tuesday afternoon. Arne Slot was boosted by the surprise return of Joe Gomez, although Curtis Jones remains out injured after missing Saturday’s win over Ipswich.
Diogo Jota was also missing from the session as his injury absence continues, while a number of the club’s youngsters were included. Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and James McConnell were some of the more recognizable young faces out on the training pitch, along with the likes of Tommy Pilling, James Norris, Amara Nallo and Trent Kone-Doherty.

With Liverpool already safely through to the last-16 of the Champions League, and just a point away from securing top spot in the league phase, Slot could well make sweeping changes to his side in Eindhoven tomorrow night as the Reds’ gruelling schedule continues.
With that in mind, the Liverpool boss may have been tempted to leave some of his bigger names behind on Merseyside in order to rest them ahead of the weekend’s Premier League game against Bournemouth.
He has done just that, with a whole host of big names let out of the 21-man squad. Salah and Van Dijk are just two of the names left at home, along with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Luis Diaz.
Among the more senior names in the squad are forwards Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa, while Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott make the journey, along with Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley.
Nyoni, McConnell, Nallo, Norris and Kone-Doherty are handed an opportunity in the senior squad after training earlier, while Jayden Danns, Isaac Mabaya, Vitezslav Jaros, Harvey Davies, Tyler Morton and Kieran Morrison are also included. Despite being involved in training, Ngumoha is not eligible to be included in the squad, with UEFA requiring him to have been at the club for at least two consecutive years.
Confirmed Liverpool squad vs PSV: Endo, Nunez, Chiesa, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Robertson, Kone-Doherty, Mabaya, McConnell, Jaros, Kelleher, Nallo, Morrison, Danns, Norris, Quansah, Morton, Bradley, Davies, Nyoni.
