Liverpool handed huge surprise injury boost plus Curtis Jones latest before PSV and Bournemouth
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones was not spotted in the open training session that Arne Slot oversaw ahead of the Reds traveling to the Netherlands to take on PSV in the Champions League. But defender Joe Gomez has made a surprise return.
Jones limped off with an injury during the 2-1 win over Lille at Anfield a week ago which saw Liverpool secure its place in the top two spots in the new-look group phase. He then missed the weekend's victory over Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
As the Liverpool players were put through some light drills ahead of flying to Eindhoven, Jones didn't emerge for the session and no others appeared to be unexpectedly missing. Gomez has been out since he limped off against West Ham United but now appears to be an option again at the back.

Slot will give a further update on injuries in his press conference later today. That is scheduled to take place at 6.45pm UK time (1.45pm ET) with Diogo Jota sidelined at the moment and not expected back for a few weeks.
"He went out during half-time, so that's mostly not a good sign," Slot said when he was asked about Jones at the end of last week. "He will not be available for the [Ipswich] game. We have to wait and see how long it's going to take. I'm not expecting months... but let's see if he’s available for PSV or Bournemouth."
"Maybe Jota [will be back] a bit earlier than Joe," Slot said had during a press conference earlier this month. "Both of them are expected to be back with us in weeks rather than months. Diogo overloaded a certain muscle."
