Liverpool's spot on Premier League spending table speaks volumes about Arne Slot
Liverpool sits six points clear at the top of the Premier League despite having spent less money on new players than every other Premier League club since the start of last summer's transfer window.
The Reds neglected to make a single signing during the January window, which closed on Monday, with Arne Slot clearly happy with the options he has at his disposal heading into the second half of the season.
Slot's squad is looking healthy at the moment after Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez all returned from injuries last week, meaning Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only fitness concern that Slot currently has.
Alexander-Arnold limped out of Saturday's win at Bournemouth with a groin issue, but scans have ruled out a serious injury and he is expected to be out for a matter of days rather than weeks or months.

Considering Liverpool's impressive form in all four competitions this season, the Reds were never likely to make significant additions during the January window as they simply weren't necessary.
Liverpool was similarly quiet during last summer's window, signing just two players in Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa. Mamardashvili cost $31million plus an extra $4million in possible add-ons, while Chiesa cost around $12million plus an extra $3million in possible add-ons.
That modest spend puts Liverpool at the bottom of the pile when it comes to Premier League clubs' gross spend on transfers over the last two transfer windows, with Everton and Newcastle respectively having spent the second and third lowest amounts over that same period.

Interestingly, Brighton has outspent every Premier League club over the last two transfer windows, investing heavily in the likes of Georginio Rutter and Yankuba Minteh last summer, and also bringing in Stefanos Tzimas, Eiran Cashin and Diego Gomez during the January window for significant fees.
Soccer finance expert Kieran Maguire shared the figures on social media platform X, and he also provided gross transfer spend figures that spanned back over the last three, five and 10 seasons.
Over the last three years, Liverpool has the 13th-highest gross spend on transfers; over the last five years, Liverpool has the ninth-highest gross spend on transfers; and over the last 10 years, Liverpool has the sixth-highest gross spend on transfers.
Maguire also revealed that Liverpool has the fifth-highest gross spend on transfers since the Premier League's inception in 1992.
