Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo turned 40 on Wednesday and his latest well wishes have arrived from one of his biggest fans, IShowSpeed.

Ronaldo last kicked a ball for United in 2022, during his second stint with the club. Overall he totalled 346 appearances, 145 goals and 64 assists before joining current club Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia.

It was in tandem with that second spell at Old Trafford that the emergence of IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, came about online. The popular US streamer and overall internet star, 20, shot to fame during this period not only because of multiple antics and controversies but because of his affinity for Ronaldo, his iconic 'Siu' celebration and Man United through playing the FIFA game series at the time.

He was absolutely distraught when the Portuguese international left the club before the last FIFA World Cup, and when he turned up multiple times in Qatar hoping to see his idol play. Ronaldo was benched multiple times throughout the tournament.

In the months that followed he hunted down a real-life meeting with the footballer until it eventually happened in June 2023.

Now their latest interaction came as Ronaldo posted to his Instagram account on his 40th birthday. In the comments Speed replied: "Happy birthday Cristiano! Stay Wild and Strong," complete with confetti emojis.

Speed's rise to internet stardom has been nothing short of crazy. From taking part in UK YouTube group The Sidemen's 2023 charity match to attending the 68th Ballon d'Or ceremony in France last year, he has done it all it seems.

Most recently the American was put into the ring by Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, at WWE's Royal Rumble last weekend. He eliminated 330lb Otis then performed Ronaldo's 'Siu' celebration but the joy did not last long as he was then painfully speared and eliminated by Bron Breakker.

It comes after Ronaldo ruled out a return to his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon. "I love watching Sporting games; they are my team... but I don’t plan to go back to play there.

"I think it doesn’t make sense. Of course, my country is Portugal, but everything has its time and its limit," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano, referencing Canal 11.
