Michael Owen sentiments that Liverpool's approach against Ipswich may have left Arne Slot frustrated have been echoed by the Reds head coach.

Liverpool preserved their six-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table with a commanding 4-1 triumph over Ipswich. Cody Gakpo's brace, alongside strikes from Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, ensured a straightforward victory for the Reds against Kieron McKenna's side.

While Arsenal secured a win at Wolves to remain in contention, the Premier League title race appears firmly in Liverpool's control. Slot looks set to guide the club to the championship in his debut season on Merseyside.

Owen has claimed that Liverpool's performance against the Tractor Boys would have left Slot frustrated, particularly with the Reds conceding a late goal.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Liverpool striker suggested that despite the comfortable 4-1 win, Slot would be disappointed that Ipswich managed to take something positive from their visit to Anfield this season.

Owen said: “It’s a nice header from a set-piece, but I don’t think Arne Slot will be too pleased. You can get a little bit proud and protective of keeping a clean sheet, so it will be frustrating there, but in the main, it was a comfortable result for them.”

The Dutchman echoed Owen's sentiments saying he was "dissatisfied" that his side failed to deliver the complete performance on Saturday.

He said: ""Decent, dominant, scoring four goals is always nice. We hardly gave away any chances at all, I don't think we conceded almost any counter-attacks, which is not always easy if you play against a low block and the fast strikers and wingers they have.

""Unfortunately we conceded from a set piece towards the end, because if we hadn't have done that it would have been a complete performance. Because of that, we are a bit dissatisfied with the goal we conceded."
