Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp enjoyed an emotional farewell at Anfield on Sunday as he brought the curtain down on his nine-year tenure. Klopp saluted his adoring supporters after the match with a powerful speech, featuring a chant about replacement Arne Slot.

Virgil van Dijk was visibly moved as Klopp waved goodbye while Trent Alexander-Arnold was reduced to tears as he spoke about Klopp's impact on his career, during a post-match interview.

But it appears not everyone was feeling the love after footage emerged on social media of Klopp's players performing a guard of honor for their departing manager.

The clip shows all of Klopp's players and staff applauding the German, who even managed an embrace with a couple of key figures. But Darwin Núñez is seen with his hands together in front of him, with Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Díaz clapping either side.

The Uruguayan has had a difficult end to the season and has started on the bench in the last four matches. Núñez played the final 20 minutes against Wolves, replacing fellow South American Díaz, but cut a frustrated figure.

It comes amid continued speculation over his future at Anfield. Núñez deleted all Liverpool-related content from his social media pages recently, having been unfairly targeted by supporters.

He did, however, upload a new profile picture after the match with Wolves as his partner and child joined in the celebrations. The striker was also pictured arriving with his partner at Klopp's farewell party on Sunday night.

Spanish publication SPORT reports that Barcelona is keen on making a move for the 24-year-old this summer. However, Liverpool is unlikely to be open to a deal unless it receives a significant transfer fee, likely more than the $Xm (£85m/€Xm) it paid Benfica in 2022.

Klopp had defended the striker ahead of last weekend's draw with Wolves and dismissed the chances of him leaving the club. "He's unlucky in so many situations where he's doing everything right and then the ball still doesn't go in," Klopp said.

"That's really tough for a young man, it's really tough. He knows about the expectations here, he has big expectations on himself." Núñez has managed just one goal in the Premier League in over two months, and that was a fortunate one in the win over Sheffield United.

Liverpool.com says: Some supporters appear to be overreacting to the clip of Núñez but it is not exactly a good look from the Uruguayan. Klopp signed him for Liverpool and gave him the opportunity to play at the highest level. There is no doubt he will thank and respect his boss for that and there is no sign of a bust-up, but he would be better served joining in the appreciation.
