Huge fight breaks out in Browns and Steelers matchup
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph was hit on the head with his own helmet as an enormous brawl broke out in the AFC North clash between the Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett ripped the helmet off Rudolph, before striking his opponent with it as other teammates began to pile in.
The incident occurred after a hit by Garrett on Rudolph that he took exception to. The Steelers man grabbed Garrett by the helmet, with Garrett – who was ejected from the game – doing the same in reply but managing to remove Rudolph’s helmet in the process.
Commentating on the game, Joe Buck described the incident as “one of the worst things I've ever seen on a professional sports field.”
Maurkice Pouncey was one of the first Steelers to jump to Rudolph’s defence, throwing punches at Garrett as well as trying to kick him in the head when he fell to the ground.
The whole brawl happened only weeks after Rudolph returned to the team having suffered a concussion after being knocked out on the field with another late hit against the Ravens in week five.

Commenting on his teammate, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield said: “I didn't see why it started but it's inexcusable. I don't care, rivalry or not, we can't do that.”
“That's just endangering the other team. He's going to get suspended. We don't know how long and that hurts our team.”
After the game, Garrett said: "What I did was foolish, and I shouldn't allow myself to slip like that. That's out of character, but a situation like that where it's an emotional game, and I allowed myself to fall into those emotions with what happened."
Cleveland were well up at the time and eventually won the game 21-7, improving to 4-6 for the season, and leaving their divisional rivals on 5-5. The teams will meet again in a little of two weeks in what should prove to be a fiercely contested encounter once again.
