Lisandro Martinez sent kind injury message as Liverpool favourite puts Man United rivalry aside
Following his latest ACL injury, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has received a message of support from Argentina teammate and Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
During Sunday's Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford the central defender was stretchered off in tears as the second half played out. He had gone to ground after challenging for the ball, immediately clutching his knee.
After the club themselves posted the message 'our hearts break' in fear of the worst, this was later confirmed by Argentinian reports explaining Martinez's latest problem is his ACL and he therefore faces up to nine months on the sidelines.

As various messages from both former and present teammates have flooded in to wish the 27-year-old back to full health, the latest to arrive comes from a rival at club level, at least.
2022 World Cup winners Martinez and Mac Allister are good friends as part of their joint-ventures in international football. They've recently shared a feisty 2-2 encounter at Anfield in the Premier League for their respective clubs, but the bitter club rivalry has been put aside in this kind show of support.
Taking to Instagram, Liverpool's No.10 wrote: "Stay strong my friend! To come back stronger than ever."
Martinez's injury continues his rotten luck in Manchester. Since he arrived in the summer of 2022, this is now his third major fitness problem.
The last was another knee injury - a medial collateral ligament one - which kept him out for a couple of months. The other was an initial metatarsal issue followed by a recurrence, meaning his has already missed 50 matches since making his debut in 2022/23.
