Arne Slot is guaranteed to be ringing the changes later as Liverpool faces PSV Eindhoven in their final league phase game in the Champions League.

The Reds have of course already sewn up their place in the last-16 after winning their first seven games, and they can’t finish any lower than second in the standings, meaning there is practically nothing at stake for the visitors this evening.

It’s no surprise then that Slot has chosen to leave nearly all of his big guns back at home on Merseyside. There will be no Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, or Luis Diaz in action this evening, meaning at least nine changes are guaranteed from the weekend victory over Ipswich.

Slot though still has plenty of experience to call upon in the Netherlands, while he could hand first-team debuts to as many as five players should he wish to do so. The Liverpool boss will likely use the opportunity to get some minutes into the legs of some of his fringe players before calling upon some of his youngsters, although one youth team star could sneak into the starting line-up.

Caoimhin Kelleher should get the opportunity to deputize for Alisson in goal - it’s hard to imagine Slot would have brought him along if he wasn’t planning on playing him.

You’d imagine Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas might share the workload at left-back and battle it out for a starting spot against Bournemouth at the weekend in the process. We’ll go with Robertson to start and captain the side, with Tsimikas coming on for the second half.

Joining Robertson in defense will be Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah, while Wataru Endo could be set to do a job again in the back four, although Amara Nallo could be an option to make his debut should Slot want Endo to start in midfield.

Our engine room has Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott playing alongside the exciting Trey Nyoni, with the 17-year-old given the opportunity to show what he can do on his biggest stage yet.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa gets just his second start since joining Liverpool back in the summer, with he and Darwin Nunez needing to prove a point. Cody Gakpo joins them in attack as he comes up against his old side, although don’t expect him to be on the pitch for long.
