14 Liverpool players at Euro 2024 and Copa America and when they could return for pre-season

Liverpool have 14 players away with their respective countries at the two international tournaments taking place this summer.

The Reds concluded their Premier League campaign last month with a victory over Wolves. The match was Jurgen Klopp's final fixture as Liverpool manager, with the club now having Arne Slot as their new head coach.

Slot will take charge of pre-season training next month ahead of his first campaign at Anfield. Liverpool will travel to the United States for three friendly fixtures against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as stepping up their preparations at the AXA Training Centre.

Before then, though, several Liverpool players are having their seasons extended by featuring on international duty. Euro 2024 and Copa America both take place this summer, and the Reds will have representatives at both competitions.

At Copa America, Liverpool have four players at the tournament with Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina), Alisson Becker (Brazil), Luis Diaz (Colombia) and Darwin Nunez (Uruguay).

At Euro 2024, ten Reds stars are competing for the trophy in Germany this summer. Cody Gakpo, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch are representing the Netherlands, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are with the England squad.

Andy Robertson is with Scotland while Dominik Szoboszlai is captaining the Hungary squad. Ibrahima Konate (France), Vitezslav Jaros (Czechia) and Diogo Jota (Portugal) are also competing at the tournaments.

All players will return to Merseyside at different times depending on how their respective countries fare at the two competitions. The Euro 2024 final takes place on July 14, while the Copa America showpiece fixture is a few hours later on the same day.

Liverpool will return to pre-season training next month ahead of a busy campaign ahead. The Reds' first fixture in the United States is on July 27 against Real Betis, and it remains to be seen how much of his squad Slot will have for the start of pre-season.
