Arsenal have been informed of a potential development in their reported interest in signing Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee. The Gunners have been credited with an interest in signing a striker ever since last summer.

Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea 12 months ago, although Mikel Arteta often utilised the German in midfield rather than his traditional centre-forward position.

Zirkzee is just one striker that Arsenal have been tipped to potentially sign this summer. Sporting Lisbon's Victor Gyokeres, Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Brentford's Ivan Toney and Girona's Artem Dovbyk have all been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing Zirkzee. It has been widely stated that the striker has a £34 million release clause in his contract at Bologna.

A report in Italy has provided an update on Zirkzee's contractual situation with the Serie A club. Gazzetta dello Sport, via MilanNews.it, has claimed that negotiations over Zirkzee's future have stalled due to demands from the player's agent.

Kia Joorabchian, Zirkzee's representative, has reportedly been holding talks with potential new clubs over the striker's future. However, it has been stated that Joorabchian is demanding £12.6 million in agent's fees, which has led to a move stalling.

Man United appear to be leading the race to sign Zirkzee, but the latest update suggests that a deal may not be close to being agreed after all. Until recently, it seemed that Zirkzee was destined to join AC Milan, but now it appears that a move to the Premier League is more likely.

Arsenal have been credited as "monitoring" Zirkzee in a recent report by Sky Sports. It remains to be seen if the Gunners will step up their interest in the striker as a summer transfer window rolls on.
