The Ultimatum: Queer Love: Everything we know about Netflix's LGBTQ+ dating show
If there’s one thing Netflix knows how to do well it’s make reality dating shows, and the streamer is adding another to its repertoire – The Ultimatum: Queer Love.
From Love is Blind to Too Hot to Handle, Netflix has always had a wide variety of programmes for fans to binge watch, but one thing the platform has lacked is a reality show featuring queer contestants and this show will change that.

A spin-off of Netflix’s show The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, the new queer take on the show will see couples put their love to the test as they join the reality show to try and date new people and see if their feelings for each other will prove stronger.
Here is everything that we know about the reality series.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love release date
The Ultimatum: Queer Love will premiere on the streaming platform on Wednesday, 24 May. However, unlike most Netflix shows it will not come out as a binge release.
Instead the show’s 10 episodes will be split into three parts, with episodes 1 to 4 coming out on premiere day, and then episodes 5 to 8 being released on Wednesday, 31 May, and then the last two episodes coming out on Wednesday, June 7.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love contestants
There will be five queer couples appearing on the show, with each struggling to decide on the question of marriage. Like in the original series, one partner is ready to tie the knot while the other is not so sure.
In order to decide once and for all whether they will marry or move on, each couple will split and be paired with a person from one of the other pairings.

They are then given just over eight weeks to enter a trial marriage with their new partner before deciding what to do with their original other half.
The couples are Lexi and Raelyn, Yoly and Mal, Mildred and Tiff, Xander and Vanessa, and Sam and Aussie, with the former member of each couple ready to make a life-long commitment to one another.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love presenter
Netflix has confirmed that JoAnna Garcia Swisher will be hosting the show, the actor has worked with the streamer before on show Sweet Magnolias.
Swisher has also appeared on shows like Once Upon a Time, Freaks and Geeks, and Gossip Girl over her lengthy career.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love trailer
Netflix has released a trailer for The Ultimatum: Queer Love ahead of the show’s launch, and the first-look clip teases what is in store for the five couples appearing on the show.
From the trailer it looks like the spin-off will be as dramatic as Netflix’s flagship series, with each couple facing different challenges during the relationship experiment.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love will launch with its first four episodes on Netflix on Wednesday, 24 May.
