Tavares wins quickly, Lowe wins decision at UFC 119

INDIANA -- Thiago Tavares made a statement in the UFC's lightweight division with a fast submission of Pat Audinwood at UFC 119.

Tavares controlled the whole bout, slamming Audinwood down to the ground. As they stood back up, Tavares locked Audinwood in a standing guillotine, causing Audinwood to tap at 3:47.

Lowe wrestles way to decision

Waylon Lowe won a bloody decision over Steve Lopez, 29-28, 28-29, 29-28.

Lowe's wrestling was impressive in the first round, as he managed to control Lopez throughout the round. He sealed the round with a takedown in the final seconds.

Near the end of the second round, Lowe able to get the takedown. Lopez punished him for it, landing several punches from his back. Lowe answered by landing knees in Lopez's side, controlling action through the end of the round.

Lowe earned a takedown early in the third and final round and threw a nasty elbow, opening a large cut on Lopez's forehead. As blood poured onto the canvas, Lowe controlled the action. With just 34 seconds left in the bout, referee Herb Dean allowed for Lopez's eye to be checked by ringside doctors. The doctors let the fight continue for a decision.
