Celtic may have to build an extension to their Lennoxtown training facility unless they clear out their bloated squad.

The Scottish champions have more than 30 first-team players on the books, something Brendan Rodgers has already acknowledged as unmanageable. Legendary keeper Joe Hart has hung up the gloves but the Hoops have prioritised a replacement between the sticks.

Celts will also see 13 loanees return for pre-season, while several talented youngsters bubbling beneath the surface will be seeking opportunities either at Parkhead or elsewhere. Here, Football Scotland looks at 15 names who could find themselves at new clubs over the coming weeks.

Ben Siegrist

Siegrist has made just a handful of appearances since joining from Dundee United in 2022. The Swiss keeper has slipped to third-choice and Celts are ready to cut ties this summer.

Adam Montgomery

Academy graduate Montgomery has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons out on loan and was surprisingly handed a new two-year contract extension. Celtic obviously see potential in the versatile left-back and another temporary move elsewhere could be on the cards.

Gustaf Lagerbielke

The £3m signing from IF Elfsborg was quickly deemed surplus to requirements by Rodgers after a shaky start to his Parkhead career. Never recovered from his Champions League debut after being sent off in Feyenoord. Has admirers in Italy and the Hoops will be keen to recoup their money.

Maik Nawrocki

The Polish defender has featured more than Lagerbielke but hasn't nailed down a starting berth. Missed a chunk of the campaign through injury and while it might be too early to write him off, Celtic won't be hard to deal with if any offer comes their way.

Yuki Kobayashi

Forgotten man Kobayashi was frozen out the entire season and will surely be offloaded this summer. The Japanese defender could return to his homeland, although he still has three years left on his contract.

James McCarthy

Talking of forgotten players, McCarthy is so far out of the picture at Celtic that he doesn't even train with the first-team squad. Hasn't kicked a ball since October 2022 but still has 12 months left to run on his deal. Parkhead chiefs could attempt to rip up his contract.

Bosun Lawal

The Irish powerhouse gained vital first-team experience on loan at Fleetwood Town, earning rave reviews. Cods boss Charlie Adam tipped the versatile midfielder as a future Celtic star but whether he's capable of making an impact now remains to be seen. Could be farmed out on loan again.

Liam Shaw

Now 23, Shaw's future clearly lies away from Glasgow. The midfielder has spent more time out on loan than he has at Parkhead since arriving from Sheffield Wednesday in 2021. Could leave the club permanently if an offer is put forward this summer.

Odin Thiago Holm

The definition of a project signing, Holm struggled to make any sort of impact in his debut season. Shunned the chance to lift the Premiership trophy on title day due to his lack of minutes. Possesses good attributes but likely to head out on loan, if not permanently.

Hyeokkyu Kwon

The £1m South Korean is still waiting to make his competitive debut for Celtic. Was given a taste of Scottish football in the second-half of the campaign at St Mirren, where he was a standout performer. Could return to Paisley for next season.

Marco Tilio

Tilio has been plagued by injuries since joining last summer. The pint-sized attacker managed just 27 minutes of action before being shipped back to Melbourne City in January. However, the 22-year-old's return to Australia has been wrecked by ongoing injury issues. Could potentially extend his loan.

Sead Haksabanovic

Haksabanovic flattered to deceive during a season-long loan at Stoke City and is another who will be on the transfer list. Has interest in the Serie A and Celts are willing to sell for around £2.5m.

Mikey Johnston

While Haksabanovic flopped in the Championship, the same cannot be said for Johnston. The Republic of Ireland international lit up England's second-tier after joining West Brom in January, winning Player of the Month for March. Such a gifted winger but just hasn't cut it at his boyhood heroes.

Hyunjun Yang

Yang showed flashes of his ability but was unable to put together a consistent run of form. The skillful winger has talent but his decision-making leaves a lot to be desired. One Rodgers could develop but a loan move similar to Kwon's could be considered.

Hyeongyu Oh

The South Korean striker was bombed out following the loan arrival of Adam idah. Rodgers clearly doesn't see him as the long-term answer up front and will probably be on his way out.
