Adams starts well at World Boxing Champs

European champion Nicola Adams made a confident start to her campaign at the women's World Boxing Championships.

Great Britain's Adams, who needs to medal in Qinhuangdao to guarantee her Olympic selection, was a confident points winner over Belarus rival Yana Levankova and now faces Venezuela's Pan-American champion Karlha Magliocco in the last 16.

Elsewhere, in the non-Olympic welterweight class, Russia's former European champion Irina Poteyeva narrowly eliminated Welsh teenager Lauren Price.
