Alex Caceres Replaces BJ Penn, Faces Cole Miller at UFC 199

Alex Caceres has stepped in to replace former lightweight champion BJ Penn against Cole Miller at UFC 199 on June 4. UFC officials recently announced the new match-up.

Caceres (11-8, 1 NC) snapped a three-fight losing streak in his last outing, defeating Masio Fullen by unanimous decision in January. “Bruce Leeroy” hopes to begin a winning streak when he takes on Miller at The Forum in California.

Miller (21-9, 1 NC) will be looking to get a “W” when he faces Caceres. In his last outing, at UFC on Fox 17 in December, an accidental eye poke rendered Miller unable to continue in his bout against Jim Alers. The fight was ruled a No Contest. “Magrinho” will be looking to get back to his winning ways when he faces Caceres.

Miller was originally slated to face Penn on the June 4 UFC 199 fight card, but Penn was removed from the event on May 23 for a potential anti-doping violation.

UFC 199: Rockhold vs. Bisping 2 takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., and his headlined by the middleweight title fight between champion Luke Rockhold and challenger Michael Bisping. Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz puts his title on the line against rival Urijah Faber in the fight card's co-main event.
