Andy Robertson walks out of first Scotland training session just days before Euro 2024 opener

Andy Robertson has caused a major scare for Scotland ahead of Euro 2024 after leaving their first training session in Germany early.

Steve Clarke’s squad arrived at their Garmisch-Partenkirchen base on Sunday evening before getting immediately to work on Monday morning. The session seemingly did not go to plan for Robertson though.

The Liverpool left-back was seen leaving training early followed by Scotland’s medical staff. With just four days until they get the tournament underway against Germany, there is now a huge concern over whether Robertson will be fit to lead his nation.

The 30-year-old looked uncomfortable as he made his way off the training pitch. Scotland kit man Aidan McIlduff was forced to replace Robertson during the session, according to talkSPORT.

Images of Robertson limping away from training will come as a concern to Liverpool as well. The defender missed nearly three months of the 2023/24 season after dislocating his shoulder while on international duty back in October.

He made his return in January, although he did pick up another injury during Scotland’s game against Northern Ireland in March, before another knock saw him miss the penultimate game of the season against Aston Villa.

Robertson’s injury could be yet another blow to Scotland, who are already missing another Liverpool star. Ben Doak was forced to pull out of the squad last week, having earned his first senior call-up for the tournament.

Liverpool.com says: Fingers crossed it is nothing too serious for Robertson, although the pictures don’t look too promising. He would be a huge miss if he were to be missing for Scotland, especially as they face such a big game to open the tournament.

Liverpool will no doubt be looking on with concern as well. Robertson has had his fair share of injuries over the past 12 months, and the last thing Arne Slot will want is one of his stars reporting back for pre-season injured.
