'Get out of the way!' Cameraman left furious after huge bus ruins shot of historic stadium demolition

A cameraman was left furious after a bus blocked his view of the historic demolition of one of America’s most iconic stadiums.

The Georgia Dome, in Atlanta, was reduced to rubble in a controlled explosion which used almost 5,000 pounds of explosives on Monday morning.

A cameraman for The Weather Channel had secured the perfect view of the 25-year-old arena – which has hosted two Superbowls and an Olympics - 40 minutes prior to the explosion.

But just as the stadium’s roof began to collapse, a large white bus pulled up and stopped directly in front of the camera.

In the footage, the cameraman can be heard shouting and moaning at the vehicle to “get out of the way” while the stadium is blown to smithereens behind it.

Elsewhere, onlookers gathered at skyscrapers' windows, at a revolving hotel-top restaurant, in car parks and on nearby streets to watch the controlled destruction which lasted just 15 seconds.

A vast cloud of dust hovered over the 71,250-seat dome following the demolition at 7.30am local time.

The dome has been replaced by the $1.6 billion (£1.2b) Mercedes-Benz Stadium next door, which is home to the NFL's Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer's Atlanta United.

Several streets and parts of Atlanta's transport system were closed to accommodate the blast and spectators.
