Argentina and Australia face-off in the World Cup last-16 today as Lionel Messi’s quest for a World Cup continues.

While their campaign stared in the worst possible fashion against Saudi Arabia, there is a growing feeling this Argentine side are growing into the tournament. Messi’s goal against Mexico changed the mood and their performance against Poland was much-improved, raising the level of confidence.

For the Socceroos, progression from a group also containing France and Denmark has to be considered a success.
