Arne Slot to Liverpool could deal Mikel Arteta Arsenal hammer blow amid Premier League title race
Arsenal assistant manager Albert Stuivenberg is reportedly a candidate for the Feyenoord job should Liverpool move to appoint Arne Slot.
Slot, the current boss of the Dutch side, is the favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp and the two clubs are understood to be in talks over a deal at present.
Such a switch could have implications for the Gunners, with Stuivenberg said to be a "possible successor" for slot. That's according to Dutch media outlet AD, who state Mikel Arteta's right-hand man is a "standout" option.
Stuivenberg has been at the Emirates Stadium since 2019 and took charge of a first-team match against Manchester City on New Year's Day in 2022 after a positive COVID test for Arteta, with his five-year anniversary at the club coming up in December.
The 53-year-old began his coaching career at Feyenoord in 1992 and would go on to become head of youth in 2001. After 13 years at the club he started his playing career at, an opportunity to work in Abu Dhabi arose in 2004.
Speaking on the futures of Stuivenberg and other assistant coach Carlos Cuesta in February, Arteta admitted he would not stand in their way if job openings came up: "If that's their will? You cannot [stop them]. I wouldn't, no," said the Spaniard.

"It's very important, and with the staff as well. I think everybody needs to feel that there is a path, there is a development plan for everyone. People don't want to do the same thing for three, four, five years you know, and there is a way to incentivise people, to inspire other people, and then to explore.
"Because you don't really know the limit of a person unless you expose him to certain things. I think curiosity is a really important quality that we have within our young staff, and that thrives."
