When is Arne Slot's first Premier League game? Liverpool opening fixture confirmed
Liverpool will kick off the new Premier League season with an away trip to Ipswich Town on August 17. The first match of Arne Slot's new era will be at Portman Road in the early Saturday kick-off slot.
The Reds will face the newly-promoted outfit on the opening weekend but Manchester United vs Fulham will be the first match of the season as a whole, with that game scheduled to be a Friday night fixture the day before. Manchester City will travel to Chelsea the following day while Arsenal has a home game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Slot's first match at Anfield will be a week later when Liverpool hosts Brentford. After that is an away trip against Manchester United at Old Trafford before two consecutive home matches against Nottingham Forest and then Bournemouth.

Liverpool will face Manchester City at Anfield first in November with the away match in February. Slot's side will travel to Arsenal in the first half of the season and then host the Gunners in the second. Another key date comes at the start of December when Liverpool travels to Goodison Park for the final time before Everton moves into its new stadium.
Liverpool.com says: The opening five matches are fairly decent-looking for Liverpool. Slot will want to get off to a strong start but there is no reason to think that won't be possible. The Dutchman will need to hit the ground running if the Reds are to be seriously involved in a Premier League title race but he should have the chance to build some momentum.
The match against Erik ten Hag and Manchester United should offer an opportunity to put down an early marker. Liverpool should have beaten its old rival three times last season but somehow failed to win even once. Several players will want to put right the missed chances that proved costly on those occasions.
