It is sure to be an exciting summer transfer window in the Premier League. With Euro 2024 and the Copa America taking place, it may lead to a frenzy of transfer action late in the window as clubs look to get big-money deals done.

Many managers would like to get transfers completed early, but that may not be possible with international tournaments taking place and players' priorities elsewhere.

Arsenal are on the lookout for reinforcements across the park as they look to challenge Manchester City once more for the Premier League title. A striker was high on their list of priorities, but after Benjamin Sesko put pen to paper on a new contract wsith RB Leipzig, the Gunners have turned their attentions elsewhere.

football.london understands they are not looking for an out-and-out striker, more someone who can play across the frontline, while they are also looking at strengthening their midfield and defensive lines this summer.

There is, however, one piece of business that is surely the most important of the summer - tying manager Mikel Arteta down to a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta 's current deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and there have been links with a number of other clubs, namely Barcelona in the past few months, while there will be links with Manchester City too, given it looks like the 2024/25 campaign will be Pep Guardiola's last at the Etihad Stadium.

Arteta has worked wonders in north London and bosses at Arsenal would be loathe to lose the Spaniard. Arteta himself has admitted that contract talks will take place "when the time is right" and this summer would appear to be the right time to tie him down to a lucrative new deal. Arsenal are moving in the right direction under Arteta and losing him would be a massive blow. His contract is arguably far more important than any summer transfer deal.
