Arsenal can secure something of a double transfer boost if they get business done quickly in the next two weeks. The summer transfer window officially opened on Friday, June 14, with Premier League clubs looking to bolster their squads ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The transfer window will be open until Friday, August 30, giving clubs two-and-a-half months to do all their business. However, there is something of an unofficial deadline a number of clubs will be looking at and hoping to get business done by.

Sunday, June 30 represents the end of the financial year for football clubs up and down the country, the time at which their accounts end and yearly statements are drawn up. This is an important date for clubs to comply with stringent Financial Fair Play and Profit And Sustainability Rules.

Arsenal are not currently in any danger of falling foul of FFP laws, but they will look at the June 30 deadline as an opportunity to give themselves more of a buffer when it comes to expenditure in the 2024/25 financial accounts. If the Gunners can sell players before June 30, it will potentially give them more money to spend after that date, giving them more financial wiggle room.

A number of players have been linked with a summer exit from the Emirates Stadium, with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Kieran Tierney, Jakub Kiwior, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson tipped as potential departures.

So how much could Arsenal raise from those sales? Looking at the CIES Football Observatory value tool, Nketiah and Kiwior are worth the most at at least £33.6million each.

Ramsdale is valued at more than £25.2million, with Smith Rowe and Nelson coming in at more than £12.6million each. Vieira, Tierney and Partey are valued at around £8.4million each.

So, if Arsenal were to sell all of them they could bank at least £142.8million that could be put towards new signings. And if not new signings, then towards any FFP concerns they may have.

But to count towards the 2023/24 accounts they would all have to depart by June 30. That would seem a tall order, getting eight players off the books in two weeks, particularly with three of them away at Euro 2024 with their countries.
