Arsenal have been one of the busier clubs in the transfer market as Mikel Arteta shapes his squad for his first full season in charge.

The Spaniard has already left a big impression in a short space of time and now hopes to bring in his own players to compliment his ideas.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract extension still has some work left to be done.

But after William Saliba’s arrival and the signing Willian, Arteta is quickly moving on to his next targets – with Gabriel Magalhaes set to finalise his move from Lille.

Here is the latest news and rumours around the Emirates.

Thiago primed for Liverpool over Arsenal

Thiago Alcantara appears set on a move to Liverpool despite links to Arsenal over the weekend.

The Bayern Munich midfielder is now intent on leaving after helping the Germans clinch the Champions League on Sunday.

The Mail report the Gunners have asked to be kept updated with developments, though the combination of a £23m fee and high wages could prove problematic.

Fabrizio Romano has now reported Thiago has made his mind up though, and it’s Anfield, rather than the Emirates, where he sees his future.

Arsenal confirm Mari and Soares on permanent deals

Arsenal have confirmed the arrivals of Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares on permanent deals.

The Gunners revealed all parties were keen to convert their loans into permanent moves after the pair impressed Mikel Arteta in the last eight months.

A statement read: “We welcome both Pablo and Cedric to the club on a permanent basis and look forward to their continued contributions.

“Both deals are subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”

Former Spurs starlet joins Arsenal

Jonathan Dinzeyi has completed a move to Arsenal after leaving Spurs following his contract expiring.

The 20-year-old links up with the Under-23s initially and will compete for game time at centre-back.

Maitland-Niles nears Wolves move

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is getting closer to the Arsenal exit with Wolves especially interested.

And Sky Sports report the versatile 22-year-old could join Nuno’s side.

With Jonny Otto’s injury, Nuno is keen to acquire a wing-back option, while he may also offer Maitland-Niles game time in the middle.

A £20m fee will reportedly be enough to get the deal over the line.

Arteta wants Bergkamp back at Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is eager to bring in Dennis Bergkamp as part of his coaching staff.

The Spaniard has been a big hit with the Gunners faithful since arriving, but bringing back a club legend would only further revive the atmosphere at the Emirates.

The Sun believe the 51-year-old is being targeted as an assistant coach after the departure of another former player in Freddie Ljungberg.

“When the time is right, I’d love to go back and get a role somewhere,” Bergkamp said in a recent interview. “Of course it would be ideal at Arsenal.

“I spent 11 years there and have a good feeling with the club.”
