Arsenal 1-0 Watford LIVE! Smith Rowe goal - Premier League result, match stream and latest updates today
Emile Smith Rowe scored his third goal in as many league matches as Arsenal moved up to fifth with a 1-0 win against Watford.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had seen a first-half penalty saved by Ben Foster on the veteran goalkeeper’s 500th career appearance, after a Bukayo Saka effort was ruled out by VAR for offside.
But the Gunners went ahead in the 56th minute when Smith Rowe struck a first-time shot into the bottom-right corner after the ball had fallen kindly for him just outside the area.
Joshua King came close to an equaliser for visitors Watford, who finished the game with 10 men after Juraj Kucka was shown a second yellow card in the dying moments.
Smith Rowe, the England Under-21 international who was this week omitted from Gareth Southgate's latest senior squad, now has five goals in his last eight games in all competitions for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

CHANCE FOR WATFORD!
15:45 , Jonathan Gorrie
87:00 - What on earth is Ramsdale doing?

That was almost quite the catastrophe.
Late Watford surge

Watford are playing their part too but chances have been few and far between.

Auba’s dodgy record
14:52 , Jonathan Gorrie
4 - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has failed to score from four of his 13 Premier League penalties for Arsenal; only Ian Wright missed more for the club in the competition (six), although Wright took nine more such penalties than the Gabonese forward. Nervy.

Smith Rowe attempt
14:30 , Jonathan Gorrie
29:00 - Golden boy Emile Smith Rowe attempts an overhead, which tells you pretty much everything about how little Arsenal are creating.
Danny Rose getting quite the reception
14:28 , Jonathan Gorrie
27:00 - Danny Rose is getting booed every time he evens approaches the ball.
Ah, football is so much better with fans, right?
Watford solid
14:26 , Jonathan Gorrie
25:00 - Since the ‘goal’ that never was, Watford have looked solid.
They’re not exactly tearing up any trees but have looked hard to get past.
Arsenal need a touch of magic in the final third.

Lokonga shot
14:17 , Jonathan Gorrie
16:00 - Other than the goal, Arsenal haven’t been able to put too many passes together in the Watford box.
They’re dominating but struggling for that final spark.
Lokonga has just put a long shot wide.
Arsenal in full control
14:14 , Jonathan Gorrie
10:00 - Watford cannot get a touch.
Arsenal look dominant but need to keep their momentum going against a side with one of the leakiest defences in the Premier League.
Simon Collings at the Emirates
14:10 , Jonathan Gorrie
Watford survive there thanks to VAR, but they are really on the back foot here. Arsenal need to go for the juggler early on, as they did against Leicester.

What does Mikel Arteta think of Antonio Conte?
13:18 , Jonathan Gorrie
“I think that is incredibly positive for our league because it raises the level as it brings new ideas, the competition will be even harder.
“But as well we have to bear in mind that we have some really good examples in Neil Warnock, with David [Moyes], and what they have done in the game.
“For example, Neil beating the record in terms of the longest-serving games and the history of David doing 1,000 games and we cannot lose [sight of] that because it is related to the history of this league and they have done so much in this league for us as well.”
