Ascot Tips: Josephine Gordon to have a Dream start

Ascot 14:30 – Dream Castle – 4/1 – 3pts
Dream Castle drops down to the shorter trip which should suit him. Last time over this distance, he finished two lengths behind Barney Roy. Barney Roy’s run yesterday indicates just how good this horse is and proves Dream Castle is well worth backing today.
Ascot 14:30 – Top Score – 33/1 – 0.5pt each-way
Top Score will love the conditions, and will be more suited to the trip. Even though he has struggled in the last two races, we believe the 33/1 price is worth taking advantage of.

Ascot 15:05 – Happy Like a Fool 11/10 – 2pts
Happy Like a Fool was very impressive at Keeneland on her only start, winning by four lengths. There is no reason why this horse should fail to produce back-to-back wins. Trainer, Wesley Ward is very confident about her chances, complementing her as the most talented of all the two-year-olds he has brought this year.
Ascot 15:40 – Pirouette – 33/1 – 1pt each-way
Pirouette’s raced many of the main contenders in this race and hasn’t been too far away on each occasion. The likes of Qemah, Small Call and Mix and Mingle have all been punished in the weights, where Pirouette has remained similar. She finished second last time out against Unforgettable Filly, before that she was third in a race Mix and Mingle won, and prior to that second to Laugh Aloud. She’s well worth a punt on this ground at 33/1.
Ascot 16:20 – Scottish – 28/1 – 0.5pts each-way
There are concerns about both Highland Reel and Jack Hobbs coming down in trip, these two could quite easily run away with this race, but we have opted for an outsider who is more used to the distance. Scottish was impressive last time out at York, and has the added benefit of James Doyle being on-board today.
Ascot 17:00 – Tabarrak – 25/1 – 1pt each-way
Tabarrak is well worth an each-way punt at 25/1 on the second day. He was successful in his last race over 7f here at Ascot last month. On that occasion he looked like he had a little extra to give. He was beaten by a length the race prior by the impressive Mix and Mingle. Given the form of some of the horses in this race it’s a shock to see the price-tag.
Ascot – 17:35 – Gymnaste – 6/1 – 1pts
The John Gosden-trained horse looks overpriced at 6/1 in the last race of the day, and we are expecting the price to shorten considerably. She was unlucky when hitting traffic in her last race at Kempton when finishing second to Keyser Soze. If she shows anything like she did at Chester, then it should be a relatively easy win.
