“The Bachelor” meets “9-1-1” in upcoming crossover first look
The two ABC shows worlds will collide on an upcoming episode of the first-responder drama.
9-1-1, what’s your dating emergency?
Ahead of the season 7 premiere (and move from Fox to ABC), 9-1-1 co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear told Entertainment Weekly that there would be a crossover between his first-responder drama and another ABC show. But until now he’d left us guessing on which it would be. (When pressed for more details, the he slyly mused, “Is it The Rookie?... Probably not, since I just said The Rookie.”)

Earlier this month, a photo leaked of a fire station 118 truck parked outside The Bachelor, though nothing official was announced at the time.
Well, now the cat is out of the tree — er, bag. During Monday’s season finale of The Bachelor, a teaser (below) aired previewing a crossover between Minear’s series and the reality dating competition.
The crossover will come later this season, after the conclusion of the three-part premiere that has Los Angeles police sergeant Athena (Angela Bassett) and 118 fire captain Bobby (Peter Krause) on a belated honeymoon gone awry.
“Even as we’re filming I keep thinking. “How are they going to do that?!’” Bassett previously told EW of filming the complicated action sequences for what the star compares to The Poseidon Adventure. “I watch from home waiting to see how it all turns out even though I was there because you just have to see how they do it.”
The second hour of the premiere, which aired last Thursday, saw Bobby and Athena literally turned upside down after pirates set off a bomb that blast a hole in the hull of their cruise ship before a giant wave capsizes the vessel. In the third hour they will be tasked with rescuing injured passenger Norman from what used to be the casino floor before attempting to escape the rising water.
9-1-1 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
