Ben Doak withdraws from Scotland Euro 2024 squad as Tommy Conway added

Ben Doak has withdrawn from Scotland's Euro 2024 squad with an injury.

The national team are without the diminutive winger, 18, for the tournament in Germany after he pulled out with an issue, as confirmed via social media last night. We told you how head coach Steve Clarke had planned to give the Liverpool wide man some minutes in the recent friendly against Gibraltar where the Scots marched to a comfortable enough 2-0 win in Faro.

As it transpired, the boss opted to leave the prodigy out and did not even include him on the bench after suggesting Doak had struggled with the two days of training.

Now it's been confirmed Doak picked up an injury which rules him out of the competition.

Lyndon Dykes was already missing after a training injury and now that has seen Clarke call up Bristol City striker Tommy Conway in the pair's stead after he netted for the under-21s against Turkey the other night.

Scotland's social media team wrote: "Ahead of Friday's match against Finland, Steve Clarke has called Tommy Conway into his squad.

"Sadly, Ben Doak has been withdrawn from the #EURO2024 squad through injury. Ben – we know we'll see you entertaining crowds at Hampden in a Scotland shirt soon."
