The American public will finally get to see the defending March Madness champion UConn Huskies back in action as they will play their first match of the Big East Tournament Thursday night.

The Huskies are one of three teams in college basketball with an argument for the top team in the nation right now, and they are on a four-game win streak heading into the Big East Tournament tonight.

UConn's biggest competitors, the Creighton Bluejays, will also be in action tonight as the tournament's No. 2-seed, but we'll have to wait some time before these teams can play one another. Creighton got the best of UConn in their last matchup, 85-66, but the only way we'll get to see a rematch (outside of March Madness) would be if both teams reach the Big East finals.

Both teams are on tremendous tears, with Creighton winning eight of their last nine and UConn winning 18 of their last 19. However, in these tournaments, all it takes is one bad game to destroy everything. Of course, it's very likely both teams would still earn bids to March Madness, but surely, each would love to add a conference title to their resumes as well.

Here is all of Thursday's Big East action.
