Big fourth quarter helps Schenevus girls edge CV-S
Jan. 18—The Schenevus girls basketball team used a 21-11 fourth-quarter to edge Cherry Valley-Springfield 52-51 at home Thursday.
Amber Burton had a game-high 20 points for the Dragons while Autumn Burton had 13 points and Sam Barrett added 11 points in the win.
Daphnee West led the Patriots with 19 points while Morgan Huff tallied 16 points in the loss.
Schenevus will take on Gilboa Tuesday as part of a Coaches vs. Cancer doubleheader while CV-S will host Stamford/Jefferson Wednesday.
Cooperstown 50, Sauquoit Valley 39
The Cooperstown girls took down Sauquoit Valley for a 50-39 league win Thursday.
Rory Nelen had a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds while adding four steals and three assists.
Tori France (four assists, three steals), Mia Kaltenbach, Olivia Murdock (10 rebounds) and Brenna Seamon (three steals) each added six points in the win.
Cooperstown will host Waterville Monday.
Worcester 50, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 37
Worcester took down Gilbertsville-Mount Upton for a 50-37 home win Thursday in Tri-Valley League action.
Hailey Shalor led the way with 23 points while Allison Boyle added 11 points in the win.
Andrea Favinger and Mackenzie Barnes led G-MU with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Worcester (9-4 overall, 3-3 league) will be at Laurens/Milford Saturday while G-MU (4-7, 1-5) will visit Roxbury next Tuesday.
Laurens/Milford 38, Roxbury 8
Laurens/Milford was triumphant in its Senior Night contest Thursday, shutting down Roxbury 38-8 for a non-league victory.
Delaney Maison led the scoring for L/M with 13 points while Kyrah Andrades added six.
L/M will host Worcester Saturday for its Coaches vs. Cancer game.
Edmeston/Morris 52, Laurens/Milford 38 (Wednesday)
Edmeston/Morris defeated Laurens/Milford 52-38 at home Wednesday.
Haylie Lund scored a game-high 20 points in the win while Molly Rifanburg added 15 and Hannah Wist scored eight.
For Laurens/Milford, Brooke Mann made five three-pointers for 19 total points while Delaney Maison and Kyrah Andrades scored 10 and 9 points, respectively.
E/M will be at Franklin next Friday.
Greene 30, Unatego 28 (Wednesday)
Unatego fell to Greene 30-28 in Wednesday's Midstate Athletic Conference matchup.
Lizzie Craft finished with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
Leading Greene in scoring were Josie Dutcher with 12 points and Cali Knapp with 11.
Unatego will visit Unadilla Valley Friday.
