WHILE the Euros might be dominating the sporting news right now, with England officially in the round of 16, there is another major tournament which will soon capture attention.

Wimbledon will officially begin on July 1, with qualifiers already underway, and the world-famous tennis tournament will surely attract a big audience, particularly in England.

Although Andy Murray is yet to decide whether he will feature at Wimbledon, the tournament and warm weather is sure to inspire some Cumbrians to pick up a racket.

Fortunately, development works on the tennis courts in Bitts Park have now been completed, and the eight courts there are officially open for bookings.

You can complete a booking through the Lawn Tennis Association website, either paying £6 per hour, or £45 for an annual pass.
