Borna Barisic and Trabzonspor trolled by Celtic fans as Turks include embarrassing moment in highlights reel

Trabzonpsor have been trolled for using an embarrassing Celtic moment in their unveiling of Borna Barisic.

The Turkish side have signed former Rangers duo Barisic and John Lundstram and confirmed as much yesterday in a joint announcement. The pair both left Ibrox as their contracts expired at the end of last season after seeing once-promising Gers careers fizzle out at the end.

Nevertheless, Trabzon seem pleased to have landed their men and it looks to be a mutual feeling as both beamed in their signing pictures. But it's a short clip from their montage of the Croatian left-back that has left Celtic fans in stitches and poking a bit of fun.

In February 2022, the Glasgow sides went up against each other in a derby and the Hoops continued their dominance with a 3-0 win, all goals coming in the first half through a Reo Hatate double and Liel Abada. Skipper Callum McGregor had just returned to fitness after a facial injury and wore a protective mask.

And he delighted supporters with one moment in particular. At 1-0 and with Barisic in possession, McGregor hounded him. Instead of trying to take him on, the Croat turned back and made a backwards pass.

The Celts skipper immediately jumped at this and barked "s***ebag" in his rival's direction. Fans were loving it at the time and just as much now that Trabzonspor have included it in their highlights package designed to introduce the player to their fans.

One punter shared the clip and said: "You’re not gonna believe what they’ve put in at 20 seconds," while another wrote: "Hahahahaha. Maybe ran out of positive videos."

Another Hoops fan said "Highlights reel and they've included McGregor tormenting him and calling him a s***bag," and another added: "No chance they put the "s***bag" clip in."
