How did the players fare in Middlesbrough's 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday?

MIDDLESBROUGH (4-2-3-1):

7 Dieng: Didn’t have a lot to do, but made an excellent second-half save from Ugbo’s low shot

7 Ayling: Got forward effectively down the right-hand side and delivered the pass to set up Jones’ goal

8 Howson: Seemed to have all the time in the world at the heart of the Boro back four – has done superbly as a centre-half

7 Clarke: Won a couple of important headers when Sheff Wed tried to get the ball forward and was steady throughout

6 Thomas: Started shakily as he gave the ball away on a couple of occasions, but improved as the game wore on

8 BARLASER: Ran the game from the heart of midfield, popping off short passes and breaking forward effectively

7 O’Brien: Used the ball effectively as he dovetailed neatly with Barlaser and might well have won a second-half penalty

8 Jones: Was passed fit despite his knock against Southampton and capped an effective display with his deflected goal

6 Azaz: Had his moments in the final third, and was generally looking to be proactive in possession

7 Greenwood: Asked questions of the Sheff Wed defence all afternoon, but rolled his spot-kick against the base of the post

7 Latte Lath: Failed to find the target on a couple of occasions, but his movement troubled the opposition throughout
