Daisy Hill are looking to finish their campaign in the North West Counties League First Division North on a high when they host Garstang at the Plumb Factory Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The final game of the season sees Daisy needing a win to beat last season’s points total and if they score two goals, they will also beat last season’s tally of 42.

With Garstang desperately needing all three points to avoid finishing in the relegation places, Daisy manager Lee Hill is looking forward to what promises to be a rousing finale.

“It’s good to have a game where there is something to play for, as it’s a game that is worth something to both teams and it’s going to be competitive,” said Hill. “It’s good to finish that way rather than have a game that will just fizzle out because there is nothing to play for.

“With us still having two cup competitions to play (in the Atherton Charity Cup and the Bolton Hospital Cup), there’s still a few games to play and the lads are raring to go and looking forward to Saturday.

“We have had to manage a few injuries in the last couple of weeks, it’s been a long, tough season, but everyone has recovered now, and we are looking at pretty much a full squad to choose from.

“We know the pressure is all on Garstang. For us, we want to beat last season’s points and goals tally, but it’s not an essential for us, whereas they have to come and look to take all three points.

“It will be two teams attacking one another, but our overall approach won’t change, it’s a game of football that we want to win.”
