The UEFA Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid was forced to be delayed by over two minutes due to three separate pitch invasions.

The both teams took to the Wembley Stadium pitch in the European showpiece for the prize of being crowned champions of Europe. After less than a minute of action, referee Slavko Vincic stopped the game as one fan ran onto the pitch.

The first invader ran up to Jude Bellingham and took the opportunity to take a picture before two more followed. A fourth invader attempted to follow but was stopped.

Dortmund midfielder Marcel Sabitzer took one of the invaders down himself, as reported by TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher. The game did eventually continue after the stewards got the invaders off the pitch.

The TV cameras showed the first pitch invader enter the pitch parameter with him running straight to Bellingham. The view was then changed to Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic, who seemed to be asking the fourth official about the invader.

One of the streamers seemed to be wearing a plain white t-shirt with Russian streamer 'Mellstroy' name on it. The streamer set out an open letter claiming he would pay anyone £300k if they ran onto the pitch with his name on the back of it.

The pitch invaders have led to UEFA receiving criticism for their security at the big event. Fortunately, no more pitch invaders followed them and the first-half continued as normal.
