Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Marc Guiu from Barcelona.

The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract, with Chelsea paying around £5million, football.london understands. The club also have the option of a further 12 months. He will now join up with his new teammates for pre-season at Cobham.

"It's an immense joy to sign for Chelsea and I struggled to sleep ahead of the journey here because I was so excited," Guiu said. "Ever since I was small, it was my dream to play in the Premier League.

"Now I have the opportunity to come here to Chelsea and I will work my hardest to be successful for the club."

Guiu becomes the fourth new face at Chelsea this summer as the club once again looks to build towards the future under Todd Boehly. Tosin Adarabioyo perhaps the exception to that with the 26-year-old being signed on a free transfer following his departure from Fulham.

With the signings of Estevao Willian, who will move to Stamford Bridge next summer after a big-money transfer was agreed with Palmeiras, and Omari Kellyman, the arrival of Guiu very much feels similar in a lot of ways. Guiu will now train at Cobham for a couple of weeks before the squad jet off to the United States to begin their pre-season campaign under Enzo Maresca.
