Brighton and Ayr tips: Johnston runner to hit the sweet spot

Brighton – 14:15 – Hateya 10/3 – 1pt
Beaten just half a length on her racecourse debut, she wouldn’t need to improve too much tot ake today’s contest.

Brighton – 14:45 – Hamster Jam 3/1 – 1pt
Adam Kirby takes the mount today for the 3yo’s handicap debut. Trainer Mark Johnston has a 20% strike-rate at the venue in the last fives years and her opening mark of 72 looks more than workable.

Brighton – 16:15 – Zipedeedodah 12/5 – 2pts
Back to winning ways last time out at Linfield his 5lb rise in the weights is negated by his jockey’s allowance. He’s got his preferred conditions again today and hopefully he continue his good recent form.
Ayr – 16:30 – Goninodaethat 18/1 – 1pt
This outsider in a relatively small field, Jim Goldie’s 9yo is well worth a small punt. Although he’s never won over today’s 5 furlong trip he has shown good form at the course and at the prices could cause a minor shock.

Pontefract 19:40 – Holmeswood 9/2 – 1pt
Beaten on his last two outings behind a couple of smart performers, today’s race sees him in much calmer waters. Blinkers are on for the first time and the hope is they can spark him back into life.
