Britain’s Got Talent spoilers follow.
Britain’s Got Talent has announced its wildcard pick for the 2023 final, with one lucky contestant being given a lease of life in the competition.
The live semi-finals took place earlier this week, with 40 contestants battling it out for 10 spaces in tonight’s showpiece event.
After Friday’s fifth semi-final took place, hosts Ant and Dec announced that the judges would be able to select one more act for the grand final, with Simon Cowell stating that it should be one of the acts who placed in third during the heat.
At the beginning of tonight’s final, it was announced that comedian Tonikaku was the chosen one, with Cowell reasoning: “It was a unanimous decision - we just had to have him here. It wouldn’t have been the same without him.”
Tonikaku will compete for the £250k prize and a spot at the Royal Variety Show against Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Viggo Venn, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, Travis George, Malakai Bayoh, Duo Odyssey, Cillian O'Connor and Lillianna Clifton.
Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
