OVER 1,000 local England supporters attended Carlisle United's Brunton Park fan zone as the Three Lions drew 1-1 with Denmark.

Gareth Southgate's side missed the chance to win Group C and confirm their qualification for the knockout stages of Euro 2024 with their stalemate in Frankfurt.

Harry Kane made the Brunton Park fan zone erupt in the first half when he slammed home England's opener and his first game goal of the tournament.

The second half saw England struggle to create any clear chances before all-time top scorer Kane was substituted for Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, who despite looking bright was unable to break the stalemate.

The Three Lions also gave their fans in Germany, up and down the country, and in the Brunton Park fan zone plenty of scares, the most notable coming when Marc Guehi was dispossessed by Aleaxander Bah who looked to have broken free, however, the Crystal Palace recovered well to defuse the danger.

Suzanne Kidd, Carlisle United's finance director was present at the club's second England fan zone and expressed her delight at the turnout.

She said: "It's brilliant, this is exactly what we were hoping for.

"The weather has been good and it is amazing.

"You've got families here who may not want to go to the pub or people who don't want to go out on their own and there is a really nice feel and everyone is in good spirits even if the score is not the best.

"This is what we want the club to be, not just on days like this."

Brunton Park will welcome back local England fans for the Three Lions' final group-stage match against Slovenia on Tuesday, June 25.
